The CoastED Program seeks to increase the capacity of the Gold Coast Community to participate in coastal decision making. Gold Coast City Council and the Griffith Centre for Coastal Management have developed the CoastED program as a key component of Gold Coast City’s integrated coastal management plan.Old Main Beach

The information provided includes images, videos and reports relating to coastal projects across the city. 

It provides interesting information as to past beach conditions. 

It is clear that the Gold Coast Beaches have always been prone to erosion and accretion cycles, with the worst known erosion accruing in 1967 and the earliest recorded erosion problems written in 1894.
